"Standing the test of time". This statement rang true the weekend of August 14th-16th, 2009 at the Dallas Convention Center as the 55 year old Texas trade show held its annual exciting Nursery/Landscape EXPO. This year's EXPO was thriving with activity as over 7000 attendees came from all over Texas and North America to take part in one of the industry's best tradeshows.

Attendees were motivated by the keynote speakers and educational opportunities at their fingertips. Educators covered new trends in horticulture, contemporary landscapes and how to adapt and survive in turbulent times. Attendees also became knowledgeable and expanded their education in growing, marketing and professional development for the Hispanic workforce.
Included at EXPO this year was the TNLA Awards Dinner, where the TEIL, Arp and Young Leader Awards were presented to deserving people and organizations in our industry that strive for and deliver excellence. Mike Branch was awarded the Arp Award, Derek Whisenand the Young Leader Award, and Southern Botanical Inc. received the TEIL Grand Platinum Award. It was a night to learn and be inspired!
